Welcome
to the three hundred and thirty fourth day of our second volume
of this series. On the corresponding day of the first volume
we had:
Boost
your self-esteem by making your new-year's resolutions.
Please note that I'm writing about opportunities in advanced
industrial democracies in the twenty-first century.
Most of these laws come from a wonderful little book by Jerry
Gillies called "Money Love."
Basically Jerry Gillies believes that most of us were raised
with negative attitudes towards prosperity and have poverty
consciousness. By transforming this negative belief system
into the positive belief system of prosperity consciousness
we can allow riches and success into our lives.
Ask yourself:
- Do you sincerely want to be rich?
- Do you believe you deserve to be rich?
- Do you believe that you can be rich?
You have achieved prosperity consciousness when you can answer
the above questions with:
- I want to be rich!
- I deserve to be rich!
- I believe I can be rich!
You can decide that you will have a better attitude toward
money you will discover that you can act toward increasing
your success and achievement.
Actions to take to improve your prosperity:
- Use the following affirmations -- repeat the affirmations
even if at first they appear alien to your thinking.
- Much more money flows into my life. I deserve it and
will use it for the good of myself and others.
- I am bringing out my inner creativity and potential.
- I love what I do and that love gets me the money I
want. (If you do not do what you do ask yourself why
not -- remember "Do what you love and the money will
follow." In the words of Joseph Campbell, "Follow your
bliss."
- The universe is a most abundant place.
- The more I earn, the more I spend, the better the
world.
- All I do brings me profits in money, experience or
both.
- No matter what I do my finances improve each day.
- Every dollar I circulate enriches the economy and
returns to me multiplied.
- Each dollar I bank is saved wealth for my own good
and the good of others.
- Lose your deficiency excuses -- For any excuse think of
three people with the handicap who did well, much better
than you dare dream.
- I'm too old.... -- Think of people like Colonel Sanders
who started "Kentucky Friend Chicken" after receiving
his first social security check.
- I'm too young.... -- Think of Bill Gates, Michael
Dell and other multi-billionaires who started their
businesses as teenagers or very early twenties.
- I'm not educated enough.... -- Many CEO's of fortune
five hundred firms have only a high school education.
- I'm over qualified.... -- My cousin used to be a university
professor in Germany. He returned back to his native
country of Iran and returned to Germany after the Iranian
revolution. Even though he has a Ph.D. he could not
get a job at first. Eventually he got a job as a manual
laborer in the shipping department of a chocolate factory.
A few months later the head of the human resources called
him in. He said, "I see from your application form that
you have a Ph.D. in chemistry." My cousin thought that
they were about to sack him for being over qualified.
He said, "I have worked well. I have done everything
I've been told. Ask my foreman. Ask my peers. No one
knows about my degrees. I need this job." The head of
the human resources smiled and said, "Calm down. The
head of our analytical lab is going on a vacation and
I'm wondering if you can replace him while he is gone."
My cousin breathed a sigh of relief and replied, "Of
course. That's my specialty." After the head of the
lab returned from his vacation, he was promoted to another
position and my cousin remained as the new permanent
head. He got this position by accepting any job offered
and working hard and humbly.
- The economy is in a recession.... -- Even during depressions
many new millionaires are created. People's attitudes
are at least as important as the external situation.
- Appreciate what you buy. Think about your purchase. Savor
it. Celebrate it and then enjoy the product throughout its
life.
- Always be curious and ask questions and look for opportunities.
- Feel the fear and do it anyway. Push yourself to move
outside your comfort zone.
- Be optimistic.
- Think of twenty things that give you pleasure. Think how
you can do many of these without spending a huge amount
of money. Also think how you could enjoy yourself so much
more when you have financial security.
- Ask yourself, "What one thing could I do more of in order
to improve my life?"
- Understand that the universe is a loving and abundant
place and as you become more prosperous you will add to
the totality of the wealth of the world.
- Look at setbacks as temporary events. Ask what you can
learn from them and how you can use them to improve your
prosperity.
- Act prosperous. If needs be "fake it till you make it."
